Girls Tennis Results
On Monday, we had our 2nd Varsity home meet of the year. This meet is an opportunity for some of our top JV players to step up and get some Varsity experience. Sometimes other teams use this meet to bring some of their JV as well, but this year every other team brought their full Varsity. While we didn’t come away with any wins, we did get that experience we were looking for. Kylie Meldon had a great battle with Beloit’s #1 singles player. Jewels Williams and Grace Johns paired up in Doubles and won several games in the sets and even had a match go to tiebreak. Gabbie Diercks played some of the best tennis we’ve seen from her. In the other Doubles spot, Zoey Saum and Jazzminne Stroud played together for the first time and also did very well. Coach Wahlmeier and I sure are proud of these girls!

Today, our Varsity was able to complete the home meet that was rained out on September 2. It was a great meet for us as we finished 1st Place as a team! We just continue to improve each time we step onto the court. It’s fun to see the hard work these girls are putting in pay off. Elyssa Frieze took #1 Singles with a record of 4-0. Tanith Elliott also finished 4-0 to earn 1st Place. In Doubles, Chelsey Armbruster and Alida Elliott claimed the #1 spot going 4-0. Wrapping it up was Grace Merritt and Nicole Blocker who finished 3-1 for 2nd place. We have tough meet in Ellsworth on Thursday. Send your Irish cheer our way!
